Bland to Bliss!

The internet is a fantastic marketplace, filled with all kinds of sellers, products and customers.  Thinking back ten years, I don’t know how I got along without it.  It’s also a great place to conduct research, which is what I do by signing up for lots of mailing lists and ezines on the topic of success.  I like to see what people have to say about how to achieve success in all areas of life - health, relationships, spirituality, career and wealth.  As a result, my inbox is crammed with marketing pitches, some great, some abhorrent.  There are a select few who consistently send me valuable information, a free ebook, an informative ezine, or an interview to download.  I don’t even mind the occasional blatant marketing technique to sell a low-priced item by promising lots of free stuff to go with it. 

Yesterday, though, I got an email from one of the pushy ones that was unbelievable.  I can’t imagine he sells a single thing with this story.  To make it short, he tells his audience that he had a dream about robbing a bank and spending the rest of the night running away from the cops.  He ties this into his pitch..  that he’s glad he knows how to make that much money for real, and wouldn’t you like to know his secret.  All you have to do is learn how to write copy and write it fast.  I guess that’s what he thinks he just did.  Instead, I connect his dream, which I assume he fabricated for his copy, with robbing his customers of their money by selling this info product.  Is success merely about grabbing money from anyone for anything? 

Look for the honest marketers who offer to sell helpful products at a reasonable price, from a place of integrity.  They’re out there…
